Dolores Magro is a singer/songwriter in the traditional Americana style, blending folk and country music with a bluegrass sensibility. Think Lucinda Williams, John Prine, and Gillian Welch as these are her major influences.
Dolores has three times participated in Pete Wernick’s 4-day jam camp at Merlefest in North Carolina, the third year earning the designation of “Jam Hero.” She enjoys playing at the Wednesday evening open mic and other events held at the Coffee Beanery in Media PA, and is a frequent volunteer at Philadelphia hospitals with the Musicians On Call program, bringing the healing power of music to the besides of patients and their families. She is also a member of PASA, the Philadelphia Area Songwriters Alliance.
“It is a joy to watch her perform, in such a soulful and original manner, her poignant and mournful songs of love lost and found and of everyday people dealing with life.” (News of Delaware County)
