Acoustic Duo of Jennifer & Elaine Pennise
A new duo formed out a shared love and appreciation of performing together is beginning to make their way onto the Philadelphia music scene and beyond capturing audiences with their unique musical chemistry that only a mother and daughter could share. Made up of mom Elaine and daughter Jen, they present a new take on classic hits and songs of today, as well as originals. Both multi-instrumentalists and vocalists, Mom and Jen have been performing as one half of the Pennise Family Band for the past three years along with dad, Tom, and brother, Tommy, on bass and guitar. Acoustic versions of great classic rock songs as well as current covers are featured along with Jen’s originals which are inspired and mature beyond her 15 years. Spontaneity and audience participation are encouraged at every show and provide an inclusive intimate musical experience not to be missed.
Some History
The Pennise Family Band started many years ago when Mr. Pennise (Tom) & Elaine started playing in various club bands in the Philadelphia area. Bands like Fulltilt, Fuzz, Trippin’ Sideways, were some of the acts they played in together. Many videos were filmed of those bands & Jennifer & Tommy started watching them at a young age. They liked seeing their Mom & Dad on stage playing music and before long Jennifer started taking piano lessons & Tommy took up the guitar. They became quite good fast and one day the family played together in their basement studio. Well the sound was great! So from that moment Tom & Elaine started working with the children more & more and Tommy started playing saxophone, & Jennifer guitar & Ukulele. One of the first BIG shows was a chance they got to play at their school Mater Dei. A lot of practice was done before hand & the show was a big hit with Students & Teachers. So if you haven’t seen the Pennise Family Band yet, come on out, you won’t be disappointed !!
