Marion Halliday is a recovering lawyer, now songstress and troubadour living in Philadelphia PA but still very intertwined with her Louisville, Kentucky family and musical roots. She has been a singer her entire life, initially as a classical chorale, ensemble and madrigals performer. In 2006, she became lead singer of the Louisville, Kentucky based regionally acclaimed trad Irish band, My Darling Asleep (cdbaby.com “My Darling Asleep”). After moving to Philadelphia in 2009, Marion joined forces with Lisa Timmons, Donna Bostock and Rosie McNamara-Jones to found the regionally recognized Celtic band The Molly Blooms. In 2016, Marion began focusing in earnest on songwriting and formed Trickster Sister to feature this music. In January 2018, Marion was named one of the “Ones to Watch” by the Nashville Songwriters Association International. Also in 2018, Marion’s music has been featured on various radio shows in several states (Kentucky, Pennsylvania, New York) as well as several prominent festivals and venues including Huntington Folk Festival, Ladybug Festival, Philadelphia Folk Festival as well as an appearance in Inverness, UK at the historic music venue, The Market Bar.
