Lisa JeanetteLisa Jeanette is a native Philadelphian and singer-songwriter who has recently released her debut album, Chasing Happy. A multi-instrumentalist, Lisa plays guitar, bass and piano on many songs on the new release. The best way to describe Lisa’s style of music is Kaleidoscope Folk, which represents a wide variety of genres in a diverse collection of songs.

The youngest of nine, Lisa took to timesharing her siblings’ guitars. Her high school orchestra instrument, the double bass, led her to Temple University, where she studied with Henry Scott, bassist with the Philadelphia Orchestra, and earned a Bachelor’s of Music in Performance. Lisa currently plays bass with Main Line Symphony Orchestra, a community orchestra in the Philadelphia suburbs.

Lisa often finds inspiration in other artists’ work. Marie Lauré is based on the heroine of Anthony Doerr’s book, All the Light We Cannot SeeKensington Blueswas inspired by Jeffrey Stockbridge’s photo journal documenting opioid addiction in the Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia where Lisa was born and raised. I Am Yours was inspired by the movie Becoming Jane.

Lisa JeanetteLisa Jeanette’s songwriting influences include Carly Simon, Joni Mitchell, Carole King, Harry Chapin, Cat Stevens, Jim Croce, Fleetwood Mac and Genesis. Lisa is currently writing and recording songs for Tick of the Clock, her sophomore release.
