Butter Queen Sister is a folk duo whose rich sound is infused with country, bluegrass and a bit of the blues. Lead singer and songwriter Rebecca Lang Fiorentino delivers melodies that are as memorable as they are beautiful in her distinctive, sweet and clear voice. When not anchoring songs with her guitar, Rebecca picks up her violin and provides another emotional voice to the arrangement. Though playing in a folk style, her classical training shines through. These original songs feature simple and heartfelt lyrics on life and love, which at times capture a classic folk sensibility. Harry Gambrill, a versatile musician, accompanies Rebecca on dobro, banjo, mandolin and harmony vocals. Harry’s tasty picking is just what the doctor ordered, adding texture and rhythm with a bluegrass & country vibe. Harry brings a couple of his amazing, original bluegrass tunes to the set which allows BQS great opportunities to jam. New to Butter Queen Sister is the talented Mike McLane, who adds superb bass and occasional harmony on various tunes! From ballads to Americana folk-rockers to bluegrass foot-stompers, Butter Queen Sister’s consistently catchy songs appeal to a range of musical tastes. A serving of BQS helps to stir the soul.
